The Beach
The photo below, taken from a hill above the beachside town of Tamarindo, includes the little estuary that divides Tamarindo from Playa Grande and the entire stretch of Playa Grande beach. It is about a fifteen minute beach walk from Palm Beach into Tamarindo ending in a 2 minute water taxi ride (or you can drive it in about the same amount of time)

Of course, Playa Grande is best know for its amazing surfing waves best around hide tide any time of year.  Just look it up on any surf site - or better yet, rent 'Endless Summer II' great movie and Playa Grande stars in the opening scenes!
